Hey guys.  I've recently taken up oil painting and thought I'd post the results here.

Wow!  I like it, Zach.  Just looking at it gives me ideas for a science fiction story.  Good job!

Great job, Zach! I think you are going to do very well with oils.

Gotta be the creepiest mushroom I've seen; really like the choice of colors you used.

Thanks for posting this, buddy. Keep 'em coming!

I love the guy...
for some reason I think he feels misunderstood.

He looks scary but I can sense he has a heart of gold

Thanks for the support everyone.  Oils are a whole different world than what I'm used to so there is much yet for me to learn.

I really like the new paintings that you've posted... particularly the car with the chalk outline beside it. Very atmospheric and creepy. Makes me wonder if there's a good story behind it somewhere.

Glad you like that one Ron.  And there IS an interesting story behind it.  That painting is of the crime scene where the Zodiac's first victim(I believe the first) was found.

Oh! That IS creepy. I really thought they did a good job with that movie. I was in San Jose in '74 when some of it was going on. I used to go to Lake Berryessa and the Oakland Hills in the late  70's and they felt creepy without me really even having paid any attention cuz I was only 14 and not paying attention to the details..
It was a crazy time to be living in the San Francisco area also because of the Symbionese Liberation Army and the Patty Hearst kidnapping.
I remember soon after that they had to take a girl out of class because her dad was a banker and there was a threat to his family.
Weird to remember all that stuff.
